Gaming is a form of free stress relief in today's world. Everyone enjoys playing video games, and it is very popular in today's generation. It’s a wonderful thing that everyone is enjoying. However, when it becomes an addiction, it is extremely harmful and difficult to overcome. There are a few examples that cannot be overlooked. Especially when you have an abundance of sources to choose from.
We have seen many young children who want to be players or champions while playing video games. Unfortunately, they can become very competitive and aggressive. They are distressed when they are unable to play, and we have frequently observed significant changes in their language behaviour.
However, there is one type of therapy that can be beneficial, which is called CBT, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This is mental health counselling that teaches you how to replace gaming-related thoughts to change your behaviour.
If you are the parent of a gamer, you should set limits for them. It will work and will assist you in understanding their limitations.
Here are a few examples:
To prevent access to games, use apps and extensions.
You can set the timings before playing and simply stick to them.
Keep your phone and other electronic devices out of your bedroom at night so they can't play games.
Continue to engage in outdoor activities to keep them from playing video games.
If your child is begging for gadgets and you have no control over them, tell them to play only educational games while also enforcing time limits.
Any type of addiction can be extremely difficult to overcome, so don't be afraid to seek help. Gaming is not harmful, but excessive consumption can be.
